Diabetic, Undergone Five Bypasses. Heart Pumping Ejection Less. How To Increase It? Prognosis?

My husband has had 5 bypasses 12 yes ago, vascular bypass in one leg two years ago, and bypass from rt leg to lt leg, 4 heart attacks last heart attack in oct 2012, and now has heart pumping ejection of 20%. Is there anything he can do to increase out put in the heart? What would the prognosis be? Sneaking cigarettes, eating bad and cannot excerise do to need of knee replacement...... There is talk about putting a difibulator in him and he is a diabetic! He is 59 years old

Hi,
I read your concerns and would like to say:
There are some more things to do, Like puting ICD, resyncronisation terapy ect., that can increase somehow the left ventricule function.
However you should talk with your doctor to see if your husband is suitable and proffit from this procedures.
The prognosis in this cases without the mention treatments is poor.
