Diabetic, Taking Gemer PL2 But Heard Prostate Cancer Is Its Side Effect. Suggest?

hi... i am khevna...27.. my husband's a diabetic.. age is 30... we are married since 2 yrs... he has been precribed gemer PL2 n taking it since 3 years.. wanted to know how helpful it is actulay.... roiginally he ws tld gemer PL1.. bt aftr he read an article abt some prostate gland cancer as a side effect of the molecular content of gemer PL1... he shifted to PL2... wntd to knw hw helpful or damaging it is... also want to knw.. hw far his medication or diabetes will affecting our family planning...

You are right.PIOGLITAZONE present in GEMER PL1 is definitely associated with higher risk of bladder cancer and this risk doubles if it is taken continuously for more than two years.
As far as your bearing child is concerned,diabetes won't have any effect on that and there won't be any difficulty in pregnancy.
