Hi,

You are saying to be a diabetic for long time. Usually, diabetes is often associated with neuropathy (damages to the nerves) together with lack in vitamins and minerals (especially those helpful for the well-function of muscles and bones).

In your case, if I was your caring doctor would advise to :

- take multivitamin supplements (containing vit B complex,D, calcium, magnesium, etc.)
- check for possible brain accidents or/and peripheral nerves (paralysis).
- if nothing of concern with your brain or/and nerves, apart taking pain-killers; I'd suggest to do light-to-moderate exercises to help your muscles and bones move and relieve pain too.

Shortness of breathe might be related to:
- muscle spasms
- possible heart disease as a complication of diabetes
- lung/respiratory problems

Further evaluation with EKG, chest X-ray is needed to exclude such problems.

Hope it helped!
