Diabetic, Given Multivitamin And Asked To Take Fish Oil. Knee Joints Are Not Stable. Suggest?

I am a 71 year old diabetic female. My doctor has had me on 1800 mg of fish oil daily for about a year. My only other daily medication is a diabetic multi vitamin. My knee joints are not as stable as they once were. GNC told me I,m taking twice as much fish oil as they recommend so I have pulled it back to 900 of the two types of oil but still have discomfort. Can I be getting to much of some thing in the vitamin?
