Pathologist and Microbiologist 's  Response
Hello,

Your Boyfriend is a diabetic and consumes alcohol in excess.
Diabetes is a metabolic state in which the patients is at risk of damage to vital organs like heart, kidney, eyes, liver and nerves.

Alcoholism further adds to this risk.
Alcohol contains lot of empty calories and this causes uncontrolled blood sugars.
Drug interactions with alcohol becomes an issue.
Adherence to the treatment regime becomes difficult.

Diabetologist Dr. Pratap VGM's  Response
DEAR MADAM

ALCOHOL CAUSES INITIAL BRIEF EPISODE OF HYPERGLYCEMIA FOLLOWED BY HYPOGLYCEMIA.
ALONG WITH ALCOHOL PEOPLE WILL TAKE LOT OF JUNK FOODS MIXED WITH OILS WHICH CAUSES INCREASED BLOOD SUGARS, IT ALTERS THE BALANCES OF SUGAR LEVELS

IT HAS PROPERTIES OF ADDITION, SO IT IS NOT ADVICED TO TAKE ALCOHOL FOR DIABETES PATIENTS.

TRY TO GET COUNSELLING FOR HIM, SUPPLEMENT WITH VITAMIN B12 VITAMIN.

THANKS
