15 years of living with diabetes what is your age probably you have Type 2 are you obese when you take oral agents for long time they develop failure to drugs at present you have HBA1c level is OK . It seems that you will requre Insulin for desirable control of blood sugar level. You should disscuss to your physician /endocrinologist that a Basal insulin may be started or premix insulin may be given with dinner so your dose of oral drug may be reduce and would have better sugar control.Apple 100gms may be taken by diabetcs.Even other fruits with low glycemic index may be taken.
