Welcome to HCM.It would be prudent to discuss gradual reduction of the drugs before stopping them with your doctor. You need to realise that the control of blood sugar has occurred due to the antidiabetic drugs and the disease itself has not gone down.Diet alone may not be enough to control the blood sugar .

Internal Medicine Specialist Dr. Akhilesh Dubey's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for using Healthcaremagic,
You are having Diabetes and I am glad that with diet and oral antidiabetic treatment your blood sugar is well controlled.
You must not discontinue the treatment and consult your Physician to adjust the dose of antidiabetic treatment.
You must understand this is a lifestyle disease and may not be cured at present but can be controlled very well with diet exercise and Drugs/Insulin.
Maintain your near ideal weight and diet take 25 Kcal/kg body weight and avoid simple sugar and food items with high glycemic index.
Hope this help
Take care.
Good Luck
Dr.Akhilesh Dubey M.D.

General & Family Physician Dr. Lohit K's  Response
Hi, Thanks for using HCM.

Fasting sugar suggests the previous blood sugar. Since it is 100 now you are in control of your sugar level. Gluconorm SR take care of 24hour sugarlevel and voglibose is to reduce absorption which will reduce post prandial sugar. Check your FBS and PPBS. If PPBS without voglitor 3 is under normal range then you can stop that. Discuss with your doctor. Since you are 32, I want to know few things for optimizing your drug like when you started the drug, what was the sugar level when started, what is your HbA1c level, your activities and daily calorie intake. Depending on that we can optimise dose.Feel free to ask me if you have any further queries.
Hope I answered your question. Wish you good health. Take care.

Regards
Dr. Lohit

Diabetologist Dr. Pratap VGM's  Response
DEAR SIR/MADAM

DO NOT STOP THE TABLETS COMPLETLY, YOU CAN REDUCE THE DOSAGE OF GLUCONORM SR TO 250 MG OR HALF A TABLET A DAY.

SECONDLY MAKE YOUR TABLET VOGLITOR 3 TO VOGLITOR 2, DO NOT TAKE THE TWO TABLETS AT A TIME,

KEEP VOGLITOR 2 MG AT AFTERNOON, THIS MIGHT HELP

THANKS
