Detached Part Of Nail Post Injury, Have Throbbing Pain And Redness From Top To The Knuckle. What Can Be Done?

Last Wednesday I got my acrylic (fake) finger nail hit and it detached the top part of my real nail. It is throbbing still and red from the top down to the knuckle under my nail. A co-worker said that it happened to her before and her doctor drilled a hole through her nail to relieve the pressure from the blood . What should I do?
