Depressed Skull Fracture, Tender, Sore, Unable To Sleep On Left. Is This Normal?

I am a 39 year old female who had a depressed skull fracture at 1 year old. On the left side of my skull where the injury occurred I still have a rather large indention and it is frequently very tender and sore, I am sometimes unable to sleep on that side. Also I sometimes have an intense dull ache in that area. Is this normal? I ask because today is one of those days where it is extremely tender...

Thank you for posting your query.

It is unusual to have pain at the site of dent in the skull related to a 38 year old injury. This is because any would or soft tissue injury would have got completely healed by now.

It is possible that you have migraine, and coincidentally the pain is occurring at the site of dent.

Please discuss this with your neurologist.
