Hi, Thanks for writing in. You might be experiencing heavy bleeding because of multiple fibroids as mentioned in your ultrasound report. Fibroids are rarely cancerous and they cause discomfort by causing heavy bleeding and painful cramps due to uterine contractions, both of which you are having. Concerning cervical cancer, it is seen on ultrasound only in advanced stages. PAP smear is done to make diagnosis of cervical cancer and is a screening test. You may discuss that with your doctor. Fibroids, if they are of recent development, can be observed by giving medications and doing repeat ultrasound scans to see for any changes. Only if they are large and multiple and causing severe bleeding should hysterectomy be considered. Smaller fibroids can be treated by radiofrequency ablation and embolisation, which are newer forms of treatment without removal of the uterus. High ferritin levels are most likely due to iron overload because of taking regular medications for severe bleeding. Hope this helps
