Delayed Periods With Spotting. What Is Wrong?

Hi, I have been late for my period by a few days, but last night I thought I was getting it, because I had a few splotches of blood coming out of my vagina . This morning when I woke up and went to the bathroom though, I ve only had the same few splotches on my pad. It like my period started for an hour and stopped, what s happening?

Hi,
Welcome to HCM. Thanks for posting your query. Your complaint picture seems to be correlated with anaemia. It is a condition where there are low iron levels in the blood. If you belong to the age group of 15-40 please check your Hb count once. Low Hb levels could be a reason for irregular and scanty periods. The splotches you have seen could be clots which is very common with females having low Hb levels.

The normal Hb values falls within the range of 12-14 gm/dl. If your value is below that you can go for iron and folic acid supplements.

Hope this is helpful for you.
