Delayed Periods With Dull Abdomen Ache, Brown Discharge, Sore Breasts, Headaches. Pregnant ?

Hi. I am 22 yrs old, healthy & happily married. My last period was the 21st of July thru the 25th. Always on time & nothing irregular to report. We have had sex every week since then. I am supposed to start my period in 2days but ever since yesterday I've had a dull ache in my abdomin on my left side (looking at me would be your right). I am also having brown discharge in spotting form also since yesterday. We have not used protection for months, as we would like to start a family soon. I have been very tired, my breasts are more sore than usual before my period, I have been having headaches more often & I have been getting what seems to me as hot flashes. Help?

Thanks for posting your query.
The symptoms you have described are due to the hormone progesterone.
This can happen just before periods, it can also happen in early pregnancy.
You need to do urine test for pregnancy a week after the missed period.
Earlier than that may not show a pregnancy that's there.
Alternatively, you can do a blood test to confirm.
In any case, if you are expecting a pregnancy, you need to take folic acid 5 mg daily to prevent neural tube defects in the baby.
