i dont think your periods are delayed in any way, because it is normal to recieve them one week early or one week late from the time you last saw them reason being that you could be having a hormonal imbalance leading you to have change in dates. the other reason is stress related.
though i would suggest get seen by the gynecologist to rule out other causes of dysfunctional uterine bleeding.
you can get an ultrasound done to see how are the uterus and ovaries are.
i would prefer you dont take any medication to bring them early as it will mess your cycle up and you will get worried more. usually hormonal medication dont work if your 14th day of your cycle has gone.
hope to have answered your query
relax and takecare.

Hi there ~

Please have a pregnancy test if you are late for your menstrual cycles. Having yourself checked out for any hormonal changes may be another things you want out of the way. One sure shot way to regulate your cycles is to use birth control pills (BCPs). Please consult a qualified gynecologist in any case.

I hope this helps. Take care.

Hi Uma,

The problem you are describing of delay in period for the last 2 months can be due to some hormonal disbalance, which may be disturbing the cycle. Apart from that the anxiety and stress which you are facing can be a precipitating factor, which may be having an impact on all that.
Normally the cycle varies within 3-5 days and it is considered to be normal and nothing need to be done for this type of condition. If your delay is more than this and is for more than 5-6 cycles, than you need some check up tto determine the cause.
Now the real proble with you right now is that you want your periods before pooja, for that medications are avaible which can induce the period, but for that you have to consult some doctor who can prescribe you the medicine after full examination and evaluation only. These medications are manily the hormonal medication which play important role in maintaining the cycyle itself.

Hope this will help you. Thanks

Combined OCP or progesterone pill is the ideal choice to prepone next coming period. However, it should be started from day 1 of the cycle and stopped 7 days before desired date to get highest effectiveness. A withdrawal bleeding similar to period comes out within 7 days. Next period may be earlier or delayed due to hormonal imbalance.

In your case, it is too late to prepone next period by OCP to get highest effectiveness. However, you may give a trial in following way.

1) You should take progesterone pill from today with double doses for at least 7 days after consulting with your gynecologist. After 7 days, you stop taking the pill and wait for withdrawal bleeding similar to period within 7 days or desired date.

2) In addition, certain foodstuff may help to prepone next period naturally. These include carotene-based vegetables like pumpkin, peaches, carrot along with taking hot milk. Body heat generation by taking high amount of non-veg diet like red meat/ chicken is sometimes helpful.

Avoid stress, take healthy diet with iron supplements, control body wt and need proper sleep.

Thank you for your query.
Causes for delayed periods are stress, anxiety, emotional upheavals, thyroid disorders, polycystic ovaries, endometrial under development due to hormonal imbalance, certain drugs etc.
Also, sometimes, it is common to have a delay by some days without any cayse.
papaya/sesame are not reliable methods to have periods.
You need to consult a gynecologist who would prescribe progesterone withdrawal to you, to prepone your periods according to the date you wish.
take care.
