Delayed Period, Light Bleeding. Brown Discharge After Unprotected Sex. Frequent Periods?

Hi I was recently 8 days late for my period, however it arrived on the 8th late day,it was lighter than usual and not as long,on the 4th day it ceased so my husband and I had sex, next morning it returned for the day, very light, then 9 days later I had a lot of brown discharge that lead to somewhat of a period over 3 days,so I essentially got 2 periods in 16 days?

Hi,
Thanks for the query.

The possible causes for your inter-menstrual bleeding are:
-Metrorrhagea or inter-menstrual bleeding due to hormonal imbalance, local causes like polyps, fibroids etc.
-Polymenorrhea or frequent menstrual cycles due to hormonal imbalance.
-Ovulatory bleeding, refer:http://srsree.blogspot.in/2012/08/mittelschmerz.html
So you once consult gynecologist and get examined to find out the possible cause and take treatment accordingly.
