Death Due To Heart Attack. Normal For Nose To Bleed Post Death Caused By Attack?

my 45 year old brother in law just passed away. he was found on the floor of his home with blood coming from his nose . the medical examiner said it was a heart attack and they took him to the funeral home. no autopsy . if we wanted one, we would have to pay 4000. which the family doesnt have. my question is, is it normal for blood to be present when someone dies of a heart attack. it was more blood than a typical nose bleed .

Please accept our condolences on the sad demise of your brother. Heart attack per se does not produce nose bleed. I read your mail with diligence. I would consider hypertension with or without aneurysm in blood vessels as an underlying condition as most compelling possibility. Sudden death points towards heart attack or you may have some other evidence of heart attack but in all probability it was accompanied by rupture of aneurysm or bleeding in the brain which often manifests as nose bleed. There is enough pointers to the brain cause either alone or with heart attack. Your brother may not be aware of existence of blood pressure that is normal presentation. Thank you for asking the question. Sincerely

Dear friend, welcome and thanks for entrusting your query here at HCM !

A heart attack does not normally cause bleeding from the nose per se.

A heart attack usually causes a fall due to unconsciousness or arrhythmia and an injury to nose during fall causes bleeding through nose.

Uncommonly red frothy pulmonary oedema (lung congestion ) after heart attack and failure can froth out of the nose and mouth and can be confused with bleed.

I hope you are fully satisfied with the guidance I gave.

I would be glad to answer any further queries.

Thank you and Good luck !

Hi,
See heart attack is one of the common and important cause of natural sudden death, please accept my condolence. He may be suffering with hypertension, undetected and suffered a sudden death, nose bleed may also come from intrcerebral haemorrage along with heart attack or cardiac arrest suddenly.
There are many causes of Epistaxis (Nose Bleed) may be High B.P.(most likely), any alcohol intake,Aspirin,or NSAID or trauma.
If it natural death ,we should pray to god to rest his soul in peace, and unnatural death is there then it is more of alegal issue.
If sudden death occurs in family other members should take care of health and take up preventive medical checkup.
Good luck to you
