Dark Purple On Heel, Seems To Be Under The Skin, No Pain. Is It A Cause Of Concern?

Hi. My daughter noticed a dark purple/black spot on the bottom of her heel today (size is smaller than a pea). It is perfectly round, and looks like it is under her skin. It does not hurt at all. I was immediately concerned b/c I thought it was a mole, and I know moles on the feet are a concern. I m wondering how concerned I should be and if I should see a dermatologist or a podiatrist.

HI,
I can understand your concern for mole in your daughter. The most important thing is that not all moles are dangerous. SO even if there is possibility of mole you should not be panicky about it. From your description it do not appear as mole. Even then it will better to see a dermatologist for best diagnosis.
