Dark Brown, Black Raised Spot On Heel Of Foot With No Tenderness. History Of Surfing. History Of Skin Cancer In Family. Possible Melanoma?
Can you get a melanoma on the heel of your foot? I just discovered a dark brown/ black spot that feels raised, no tenderness to it, on the heel of my foot. I am blonde hair blue eyed originally from So. cA. And did my sun time before we knew better. I was a surfer and outdoors person until last year when I was struck by a car while walking my dog in a crosswalk. I have an extensive history of skin cancer on my mothers side and unknown on fathers but Irish descent .
As you are already aware, I cannot rule out the possibility of a skin cancer without examining your dark brown/ black spot clinically. Melanoma is a condition requiring early diagnosis and treatment. You musty check your entire body for any suspicious swellings and inform your doctor.
I suggest you have a surgeon to see the brown black spot and he will decide if any further tests like needle aspiration (FNAC) are necessary. Do give him details about your problem and duration from when its present.
Hope this helps.
