Cut On Leg, Cleaned With Hydrogen Peroxide, Applied Neosporin, Pains. Looks Like Flesh With White Puss. Help?

Yes, My Husband who works as a plumber full time, was power washing the house about a month ago. Well somehohow he got a some cut on his leg while washing. So he cleaned it off really well with hydrogen peroxide and took a shower. After the shower he put on some Neosporin and bandaged it really good. Well about 2 weeks ago we both noticed that it wasn't getting any better but in fact looking a lot worse and causing extreme pain in his entire leg. So he went to our dr and they prescribed him some antibiotics named cephalexin 500mg on 9/28. He took those as prescribed but it just seemed to be getting worse still. So he went back to the dr and the dr said just give it more time. Well long story short hes been to see 5 different dr to no avail, the lst one prescribed some type of ointment to dry it out, but nothing, the pain is just getting worse and the redness araound the area is getting worse. to describe it would be like a flat open flesh wound 2 to 3 inches long and about 3 inches wide. It looks like bare flesh with what appears to be small white puss pockets or bumps. But he is also having these same experience right below his nose. I would have thought that after 5days on medicine it would start to get better not continue to get worse. I am not a dr. I worked at an assisted living facilty for 3 years though abd I told him to please have them test it for MRSA. Do you have any recommendations?

Hi
You should check whether he is diabetic or not. If he has high sugar level the wound may not heal fast with out controlling it. The wound history sounds like its an ulcer. if your husband is a smoker ask him reduce it.because that also increases healing time. You should have a good wound toilet everyday. before taking an antibiotic take a culture and sensitivity test from sample from wound.
With all these i think will help him for wound healing. if not you should consult a surgeon or podiatrician to check his status.
thanks
