Cut In Index Finger, Swollen. Should I Go For Stitches After Swelling Goes Down? Healing Period?
So I smashed and cut my index fingur yesterday and couldn't see a doctor for several hours. When I did see the doctor he said he couldn't stich it because the fingur was to swollen. He had a nurse wrap it and sent me on my way . My queston is after tge swelling goes down should I go back for stitches ? How can I speed the healing process and continue to work. I can afford to miss to much work. And I have physically demanding job
Hi, If stitches are not taken due to passing several hours after injury. Now to control infection and fast healing you may require antibiotic and anti-inflammatory medicine course after consulting your doctor. Go for regular dressing with proper cleaning wound with antibiotic cream. It will take few days more to heal in comparison with stitched wound. Ok and take care.
