Ct Scan Of Uterus Taken. What Does The Findings Mean?
Ct scan states 5.6 cm oval slight low density lesion with an acentric higher density or enhancing portion subjacent to the lateral margin proximal sigmoid colon upper left pelvic. IMPRESSION: 5.6 cm oval elongated mostly low density upper left pelvis may be to the left fallopian tube or ovarian structure. Recommend clinical follow up and correlation. What does this all mean? My symptoms include abnormal and heavy periods, bleeding with inner course, abdominal swelling and bloating, pelvic pain, pain and nausea with eating, full body inflammation, urge and frequent urination, and more. Also have enlarged uterus at 10.4cm, endometrium is prominent at 1.85cm, and enlarged appearance of the spleen 13cm.

Hi,
The CT scan reports wants to say that there is an abnormal tissue measuring 5.6 cm, located in the vicinity of the left fallopian tube (this tube technically connects the ovary with the uterus and ovule produced in the ovary travels to the uterus through this tube), left ovary and sigmoid colon (part of the colon located in the lower left side of the abdominal cavity). The radiologist was not able to see which of these above-mentioned structures the tissue is coming from (from the left ovary or left fallopian tube). This is why he recommended your doctor two things:
- To check and see if the presence of this tissue may cause the specific symptoms that you have
- To send you back for another CT scan after some time to see if the appearance of the tissue has changed.
