Suggest Treatment For Cramps In The Lower Abdomen Near The Pelvic Area Apart From Gas

Cramping in lower abdomen near pelvic area. Earlier was associated with diarrhea and now seems like gas. Eases up heating pad. Although I had stomach issues earlier in the day as well but that has also seemed to have subsided. Thought perhaps ulcers at first but it is close to time to begin my period as well.

Hi,

Your history seems to be related to either enterocolitis or premenstrual pain. The character of both types of pain in lower abdomen are different and you may be knowing the premenstrual pains well as you may be having this every month.

But it is important to watch for intestinal symptoms and signs and at the same time for stool and any other problems. If related to this then needs proper evaluation, investigations and treatment with Metronidazole or antibiotics along with symptomatic treatment for pain and any other symptoms.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. T. Chandrakant, General Surgeon
