Cramp In Lower Abdomen Before Periods. Feel Uncomfortable After Eating. Reason?

I've had a cramping sensation in my lower anterior abdomen for about a week now. I'm due to have a cycle in about a week but have never had cramping before. I've had bowel movements. I have an appetite but generally feel very uncomfortable after eating. No fever or chills. I have tenderness to lower abdomen directly above the pubis. I'm wondering if this is something I should look into, or wait for my cycle next week and hope it goes away? Thanks!

Hi and thanks for the query,

Pain before menstruation is not unusual n women. However, it becomes an issue when the intensity of a sudden increases, or when other symptoms like severe tenderness, discharge and fever set in for these could signs of a pelvic inflammatory disease. a physical examination is compelling. A vaginal examination, direct examination of the cervix, an ultrasound and specific blood tests can hen be asked to know the exact cause of these symptoms. In case it is as usual, no need to worry. If otherwise, you might need to consult a doctor.

Kind regards,
