Could Trinessa Bc Pill Cause Nightmares And Acne?

Doctor,

I'm 18 years old and I just started using Trinessa birth control a few weeks ago. Is it possible that it's triggering nightmares? For the past week or so, I've had nightmares almost nightly. Also, can it cause my acne to become worse? Thank you

Hello,

Birth control pills can cause acne and symptoms like nightmares in some women. However, these issues will subside onv]ce your body starts getting used to the pills. However, if adverse effects are troublesome, consider alternate forms of contraception.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Lekshmi Rita Venugopal, General & Family Physician
