Could Throat Infection Be Due To The Usage Of Drugs?

Hi I have relapsed going on a few weeks not snorting drugs to be blunt at least. A few times daily now-I'm scared because I had a throat infection due to this sort of use six years ago...it's been three days now going to see a doctor tomorrow...besides getting clean, is there any info u can give me I'm on the verge of a panic attack...

Hi Dear,

Welcome to Health Care Magic Team.

Understanding concern about your health.

Yes snorting drugs could be the possible cause of throat infection . They sometimes penetrate mucosa and create problem . As you are not taking these drugs now , it could be possible that throat infection happened due to some other factors like weak immunity , some other infection in mouth ,cold and systemic condition .

i would like to like to suggest to take antibiotics and painkillers like paracetamol for 3 days and do warm saline gargle which will give you relief from symptoms .

If the condition still persists then you should see ENT specialist (ear ,nose throat ).

Hope your concern has been resolved.

Best wishes,
Dr. Harry Maheshwari
