Could There Be Hyper Withdrawals When Switching Morphine To Suboxone And When Is It Good To Start Suboxone?
Doc, I need to know when to begin taking my Suboxone tabs. I took my last dose of Morphine SR about 10 hours ago. Do I have to be in full blown withdrawals to start? I heard wait twelve hours from a friend and I ve also heard different things from others on the net. I have been taking approx. 300 milligrams of Morphine SR every day for four years and now I m switching to Suboxone but I don t want to instigate hyper withdrawals by taking the Suboxone too soon. don't worry take suboxone 4 mg initially if u feel withdrawl symptoms are occurring then you may take 4mg more not to exceed more than 16 mg per day.
buprenorphine is a mixed agonist antagonist analgesic, initiate a trial, u don't require tapering of morpheine dose for starting suboxone. take it the next day ie when the next dose of morpheine is due.
