General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Since your son is only 19 months there is nothing you can do at home with the history of enlarged tonsils, blockage and fever.
I would advise you teh following in such a situation:
Consult the Pediatrician for clinical evaluation.
Tests of throat swab and blood to see for the level of infection.
Get started on an appropriate antibiotic and anti-inflammatory medications that can help with fever too.
Try to give plenty of warm oral fluids to avoid dehydration that can occur so easily in pediatric age group.

I hope this answer helps you. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,

Dr. T Chandrakant,
