Could The Symptoms Of Bloating, Abdominal Pain And Constipation Be Due To Gastroperesis?

I put my symptoms into the system and came up with gastroperesis. I have had extensive exploratory surgery 37 years ago resulting in a complete hysterectomy due to cancer. I also had 36 radiation treatments. Over the years I have had stomach pains, bloating, constipation, and really bad diareah or however you spell it! I have a colonoscopies and an endoscopy as well as several scans. I had my gallbladder removed and it helped some. I was told I have IBS and just to live with it. Recently, I have been sick 6 days out of the last 7 weeks. I feel instantly full, get miserable, and start vomiting violently for 3-4 hours. I have had this several years but not this frequently. I find that I have all the symptoms except diabetes that goes with gastroperesis. Could this be what I have?

Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted the history of cancer of uterus with extensive surgery of total hysterectomy, 36 radiation dosages, over the years developed stomach pains, bloating, constipation, bad diarrhea. Had several Endoscopies, colonoscopies, Scans, gall bladder removal helped some, told that have IBS, now for a week have been suffering with instant fullness, get miserable, start vomiting, violently for 3-4 hours, put the symptoms on internet and found gastroparesis as the most probable cause.
Gastroparesis will not have diarrhea and there wont be violent vomiting.
With the history you have given I would like to think about IBS that is irritable bowel syndrome as the commonest cause if all the investigations are within normal limits.
If the investigations indicate about obstruction, the cause can be treated surgically and this is possible as you had Radiotherapy and extensive surgery.
For gastroparesis you will need the Barium studies which will show progress of the barium through the stomach and intestine and thus only be diagnosed.
If the barium studies indicate obstruction , you will need surgery.
If all the investigations are normal, go for treatment of IBS.
