Could The Swollen Lymph Node Be Related To The Breast Tumor?

I had a biopsy last week of a lump I found in my breast, that was confirmed a tumor after an ultasound and mamogram. The biopsy confirmed abnormal cells and the papilloma but the doctor says it is not conclusive enought to dianose cancer and recommends removing the entire tumor for further testing. I forgot to mention that I had found a swollen lymph node in my neck (behind my ear) back at Christmas time and it is still there. Does this indicate a higher chance of cancer and could the swollen lymph node be related to the breast tumor?

Welcome to health care magic.

1.The lymph nodal enlargement will be seen after any infection / inflammation that can be localised or systemic.
2.In your case either its benign or malignant the lymph nodal enlargement is seen, yes you are right in a way the possibilities of malignancy dominate the benign.
3.However the doctor is planning to resect the lump/mass lesion suggest that the mass is well defined or limited to some extent with out involving chest wall.
4.In this case once operated it will be sent to histology and pathology analysis.
5.Depending on the finding the followup and treatment will be depends.

Good luck.
