General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for writing to HCM.

High TSH hair fall all these indicate towards hypothyroidism(low functioning thyroid). Dose of thyroid replacement depends on the response which is reflected by level of TSH. Usual full replacement is @1.7mcg/kg/day and if elederly or Cardiac disease it may be given at lower dose of 1mcg/kg/day. Since your thyroid gland is functioning inadequately and hence it is being replaced from outside so it is likely that you will need it for quite sometime.

Hope this helped. Do let us know.
