Could The Severe Abdominal Pain Due To Enlargement Of Left Ovary And Cysts?

Background - I have recently had breast cancer and after 2 x lumpectomies (nodes were negative) and 20 fractions of Radiotherapy I am now on a course of Tomoxifen and have my first Zoladex injection on Friday. Recently I have been suffering with abdo pain which reached an excruciatng peek last week and I was admitted into hospital. Scans showed that I have an enlarged left ovary with several cysts (largest 4.7x4.2cm), endometriosis and fybroids (largest 2.4cm) Question - my grandmother had woomb cancer and I know that Tomoxifen raises the risk of this. The hospital say that this hormonal drug may have contributed to my symptoms. As I have problems in this area (and will have to take Tomoxifen for a minimum of 5 years as I am 43) I think that I would like to seriously consider a full Hysterectomy. Do you think I would be taken seriously should I request this? I have 3 children and have a history of heavy periods...which after last years oblation has improved. I have private healthcare and am booked in to see a consultant soon. Many thanks.

Hello,

Hysterectomy is only indicated if the diagnosis and clinical severity warrant it. So please follow up with your OBGYN for the necessary management.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
