Could The Rolled Ankle With A Pop Sound Be Just A Sprain?

I rolled my ankle and I heard a pop sound. It s the top of my foot that really hurts. i was able to walk well for a while, but after Ive iced it now, it s pretty painful. Bad time to have break or a tear so are there any sure signs that would tell me if I did either of those? or if it s just a sprain?

Thanks for your query.
From the description, I feel that you might have sustained a SOFT TISSUE STRAIN involving your ligaments or tendons.
This will generally resolve within few weeks by the following measures -
* Rest to the injured part and don't involve in activities which puts additional strain on the injured tissues.
* Ice packing should be applied for about 20 minutes once in every 2 hours.
* Analgesic & anti inflammatory medications
Get an Xray done to ruleout any bony injury.
