Could The Pressure In Sinus And Upper Tooth Ache Be Due To Sinus Infection?

I was just prescribed losartan ( on it for 2 days now) for high pressure, having had some relatively severe sinus pressure/upper teeth ache issues with losinopril (was on it for 2 weeks). But I am also starting to get the same symptons/effects with losartan - is it a potential sinus infection? Thanks.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Noted your history about having pain in sinus area and upper teeth, developed particularly after being prescribed and taking Lisinopril, so changed over to Losartan but the problems re-started.
Such a pain due to sinus infection is a possibility.
Other reasons can be as follows:
Caries and rot infection of teeth.
Infra-orbital Neuralgia.
This can be diagnosed by the following:
X-ray followed by CT scan for confirmation can help the most probable diagnosis.
Relevant tests of blood.
Special opinion of an ENT Surgeon.
All these can help you to get an appropriate reason, the cause-effect relationship.
Once a proper diagnosis is done then obviously the treatment will be specific and effective.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. T. Chandrakant, ENT and General Surgeon
