Could The Intake Of Protein Drink Results In Light Feces?

My mother is 88 and is recovering from hip surgery -broken not replaced. She is in rehab. On a recent visit I noticed her feces as being very pale - light tan(?) She is not eating much, but they are trying to get her to drink a protein type drink . Could this be the cause of the light poop? Should we be concerned it is something else?

Hi, Welcome to Health care magic forum.
The pale stools, during the recovery from a hip surgery, may not be related to the protein foods.
As you said she is not taking sufficient food, and may be deficiency of essentials like leafy vegetables.
I advise you to give her enzyme preparations , give her green leafy vegetables, pulses, sprouts, and protein rich foods.
Wishing for a quick and complete recovery. Thank you.
