Could The Holes In The Stools Be Due To Worms In The Abdomen?
Hello, I have had continual abdominal pain for many years and have been told by doctors that it is from IBS. However, I have only a few IBS symptoms. I rarely have constipation or diarrhea but my stool is often loose and yellow. I frequently see holes of 1/16 to 1/8 inch throughout my feces. Could this be a parasite?
Abdominal pain you are having for years, to my opinion, as per your details could be due to IBS. However, we want to exclude other organic issues first including intestinal parasites.
Holes in stool could be due to gas (especially if you continuously are feeling bloated) or other causes. To determine the right cause, I advise to run stool examination for ova/parasites and complete stool analysis.
For the moment, keep drinking plenty of fluids. Take probiotics when you have abdominal pain. Avoid foods that would aggravate or precipitate pain like beans, frizzy drinks, etc.
Try to cope with stress. Avoid caffeinated drinks.
Hope this helps.
