Could The High Pulse Rate Be Due To Anxiety?

Hi I ve been having several health issues, but my concern is about my high pulse. I don t have high blood pressure, but my pulse has reached 150 twice. Even when I wake up in the morning its always over 100. I suffer from severe anxiety accompanied with muscle spasms in my shoulders from it and I ll get these knots built up. I ve tried breathing exercises, relaxation exercises, my stress level is very high and I was wondering what medication would best help with anxiety and muscle spasms. I m currently on Xanax (which doesn t help I m switching off of), Neurontin 800mg 4x day, Zoloft 100mg for anxiety. I ve had an EKG and there is nothing wrong with my heart and my pulse isn t due to a med. I ve had another Dr tell me the high pulse also has to do with the level of pain I ve been in. I have a neck injury which I ve been dealing with since 4/9 and theres still a lot of inflammation, I m doing ice and I m on meloxicam 7.5mg 2x day, lidodaine ointment, flexeril 10mg 1x a day, and opana 1 every 12 hrs as needed. I ve had prednisone shots in my muscles, 2 epidural nerve blocks, facet nerve block, which has helped but the pain still keeps me from being able to do daily activities and affects my sleep. I also go to the chiropractor 5 days a week, do posture exercises because I have a forward neck and buffalo hump. Also, what is the best medication for inflammation? Is meloxicam the best?

Hi welcome to HCM.
You seem to have Generalised anxiety disorder/GAD with Fibromyalgia.NSAIDS like meloxicam are a very safer group of drugs to manage inflammation.I strongly recommend you to wean off the steroids like prednisone as you seem to be affected by iatrogenic cushing's syndrome as evidenced by buffalo hump.Drugs like lorazepam and escitalopram offer excellent cure rates to GAD.Stress management techniques can be often helpful.Consult a psychologist for further expert management.
Thank you
