Hi perfect I see your an ENT I have just finished two lots of antibiotics for an infection after the removal of my lower wisdom tooth on the 20th of December ..... the antibiotics I was on were 500mg Amoxicillin and 400mg of Metronidazole ..... However I feel my glands are still infected as they are sore to touch and sometimes swallow. I will go back and see my Dentist on Monday, but what do you think. Thanks Debbie.

hi thanks for your query.wisdom tooth are removed through surgical extraction which is done by bone cutting.hence the extraction site needs more time for healing.this healing gets delayed when there is improper oral hygiene, frequent disturbing of the extraction site with tongue. After a wisdom tooth is removed, you may experience:

Pain and swelling in your gums and tooth socket where the tooth was removed Rare side effects, including:
Numbness in the mouth or lips that does not go away. but the condition you are explaining might be because of salivary gland infection. please visit your dentist and treatment can be planned according to the conditions.hope this helpful.
