Could The First Menstruation After Removing Mirena Coil Be Used To Calculate Ovulation?

I had my Mirena removed on 7/15/14. I began a heavy bleed on 7/20/14 for about 5 days, I then started bleeding again on 8/2/14. Can I consider this my first period and calculate ovulation? I never had a period on Mirena and prior to Mirena I had normal 28-31 day cycles.

since the Mirena uses progesterone to prevent pregnancy, the bleeding after the Mirena is removed is technically a withdrawal bleed and not a true period. therefore, it would not be reliable to calculate ovulation. yo I need to edit until you have a natural cycle and you can calculate ovulation then. I hope this helps, please let me know if you have any more questions.
