Could The Boil In Vulva Be Due To Clotrimazole Cream?

Hi Doc, I have been using clotrimazole cream with bethamethasone to treat vaginal itch for about 2 weeks and it is working, no more itchiness but now I also have boil on my vulva area. Is this caused by the steroid in the cream. Should I change to clotrimazole only cream without steroid. How long should I be using this cream.

Thank you for your query
Welcome to HCM
This is Dr. Swarnava Dattagupta answering your query.

Clotrimazole steroid creams are generally given for 2-4 weeks depending on the severity of the problem.
Well allergic reactions and boils and blisters are though not very common but can occur with steroid creams.
I would suggest you to consult your prescribing doctor. He would probably discontinue the steroid cream and ask you to continue with clotrimazole for another week.

Hope this was useful.
Regards
