Could Syncope And Tremors Be Caused By Alcohol Abuse With Medications?

Hello- My sister Ranae, has mental illness. She is on 3 medications for her mental illness, They all 3 say not to take with alcohol. She insists that she's fine. She's consumed Alcohol for over 20 years and I'm really worried for her Brain, liver and heart. She is drinking 3 to 4 glasses of whiskey with freska everynight. Lately she's been having some tremors, fainted, and hasn't felt well. I told her she shouldn't be drinking alcohol with her medications, but she says she's fine. I think she's in denial. What would you suggest?

It is like trying to travel in both boats simultaneously. Anyway, it is not the issue. The craving for alcohol needs to be curbed first. Consuming alcohol and substances are really a CRY FOR HELP which the persons significant in her life should understand. Respect her individuality and convince her of the benefits of healthy living through the services of a Mental health professional.Check for a de-addiction program in town. Along with de-addiction, medication for the mental illness and counselling for a healthy living must yield results.

Nice that you have a concern.

Best of luck.
