Could Swelling In Tongue And Purple Color Be Due To Tongue Infection?

I woke up with my tongue swollen & purple 4 days ago.. I didn't think it was nothing & it'd go away .. But it's still here& the pain isn't changing. I haven't been eating normally ; it hurts when chewing .. I've only been able to drink water .. Is it a tongue infection ?.

Hello

Purplish discoloration of the tongue can be due to an infection or bleeding in the tongue and you should consult your doctor for the same.
You may need antibiotics and further evaluation. please meet your doctor for the same.

I have gone through your query, as you have mentioned that you have swollen tongue , purple tongue , Glossitis,can be due to can be due to allergic reaction , if you are taking any medication,

Avoid taking drug if you are taking any medication

You can take Antihistamine, one tablet

Consult dentist for Oral examination , and proper investigations
