Could Sore, Red And Swollen Toe And Red Line On Toe Be The Symptoms Of Diabetes?

I have a sore red swollen second toe on each foot, and do not know why. Could this be a sign of diabetes? Also, the third toe on the right foot nail has a red line across the top of it, and my first toes on both feet, the nail bed looks somewhat purplish in color. No pain any where but the second toes.

Hello,
Welcome to HCM
Just the red swollen toe won't signify that you have diabetes. It can be due to various reasons like ingrown toenails, cuts or scrapes, injuries and blisters. Arthritis and infections can also cause toe pain.
Diabetes also causes this symptom but it is seen in people with long duration of diabetes. It is called peripheral neuropathy.
So,i would suggest you to confirm your diabetes state by doing Fasting and postprandial blood sugars.
Meanwhile, you give hot compressess to the toe and take pain killers.
Hope i have answered your query.
Thank you
