Could Sleepiness Post Trauma Be A Symptom Of Concussion?

My boyfriend had an accident at work this morning where he fell and hit the front of his head and nose area on the ground. He did not lose consciousness and we went to Urgent Care where he passed all of the tests they performed looking for a concussion. He is very sleepy now, but I think that may just be from the adrenaline after the incident occurred? Any thoughts, I am worried about him..

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

It can be, but safer would be if he underwent a CT scan and checked out for concussion or any larger injury.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Arunesh Upadhyay, General & Family Physician
