Could Severe Pain In Gums Be Stress Related?

I suffer with a quite rare stress related gum disease which has caused my gums to recede badly. I have been prescribed Flucloxallin 500mg x 2 - 3 times a day and have been taking paracetamol as well. I am in sever pain but have run out of paracetomol . Can I take tramadol 50mg x 2 instead to relieve the pain.?

Hi..
Can understand your concern..

As per your complain stress have a deleterious effect on the body and the oral cavity.

Gum diseases caused by stress have a damaging effect on teeth as the hormones released due to stress leads to destruction to the gums as well as underlying bone.

Tramadol can be taken to control severe pain but only for short duration as it is NARCOTIC DRUG and long term usage can lead to addiction.

So it should be taken after consultation with your dentist who known your complete medical and dental history.

Other painkillers which you can take in place of paracetamol are Ibuprofen Diclofenac Potassium, etc. which are safer and does not cause addiction.

Maintain a good oral hygiene and practice stress relieving methods like meditation and yoga for improvement of oral heath and overall health.

Hope your query is solved..
