Could Regular Nebulisation For Cough And Cold Lead To Asthma?

Hello doctor, I have an eight yr old son who weighs 45 kg . He has no repiratory problems and no asthma . Neither is there any asthma history in both sides of family however his pediatrition only prescribes nebulization as treatment with different drugs the recent one being duolin for coughing which is making me very uncomfortable . My son gets cough and cold thrice or four times a year . Is this going to make him dependent on a nebulizer or maybe create asthma where there is non ?

Hi, occasional nebulisation will not lead to asthma in child. If there is wheezing episode in child then nebulisation should be given otherwise condition may become worse. Take care.
