Could Red Dots Around Cheeks And Eyes Be Related To Holding Of Breath For A Long Time?

My son held his breath at school today for a long period of time. Now he has red dots all around his checks and under his eyes. What caused this and should I be concerned about the long term effects for his brain from him doing this today (he and another kid were competing- who could hold their breath the longest).
