Could Pins And Needles In Thighs, Cold Flashes And Back Pain Be Signs Of Arthritis?

I have been having my left thigh feeling like pins and needles, like it is asleep, it was feeling very cold a few weeks ago, but that has gotten better, my chiropractor said I have arthritis in the back after taking xrays, but I am stiil worried that this feeling is bad, I have had back pains for many yrs, on and off, I was in sales and driving alot and have been a waitress for many yrs. on my legs, I excercise alot, play raquetball, it seems to get worse just standing still, or after sitting awhile, my sleeping is better for a while I could not even sleep on the left hip area, I also have the tightning in the groin, what do you think, should I go see a nerve doctor?

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

I have studied your case.

I will advise MRI spine to see for any nerve compression leading to back pain.

Medication like methylcobalamine with muscle relaxant and analgesic will reduce pain; you can take them consulting your treating doctor.

You may consult physiotherapist for further guidance. He may start TENS, or ultrasound which is helpful in your case.

I will advise to check your vit B12 and vit D3 level.
If MRI shows disc compressing on nerve root then surgical decompression is permanent solution.

Hope this answers your query. If you have additional questions or follow up queries then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your queries.

Take care.
