Could Painful Chest With Difficulty In Breathing Mean Bronchitis?
Hello I worked in a freezer for about a year now then two months ago I had a really bad cough then they put me on steroids my cough went away well I cough here an there but my chest hurts upper an middle not so much the right chest it does hurt but not as much as the left an even when I m not in the freezer its hurts but I have trouble breathing not all the time even when I m not in the freezer I had test done an waiting for my blood test to come back they said about bronchitis or pneumonia what do you think an thanks
Hello dear, thanks for your question on HCM. I can understand your situation and problem. Working in freezer environment (cold exposure) can cause lung infection ( pneumonia ) and bronchitis. So better to consult pulmonologist and get done 1. Clinical examination of respiratory system. 2. Chest x ray. 3. PFT ( pulmonary function test ) Chest x ray is needed to rule out lung infection. PFT is needed to rule out bronchitis. PFT will also tell you about severity of the disease. You may need inhaled bronchodilators and antihistamine drug. So better to consult pulmonologist and first diagnose yourself and then start appropriate treatment.
