Could Pain In Middle Back Area Be A Sign Of Heart Attack?

My brother had severe arterial blockages and needed 5 stents inserted December 2010. In the last week. He has had two episodes of severe stabbing pain in the Middle back area. He is still experiencing residual Back Pain in the same area of the Back. How concerned should we be? Are these episodes smaller Heart attacks? Should we take Him to the Emergency Room? Another major attack will kill him. Is this Pericarditis? He has been carrying His groceries up 2 flights of stairs as well as small Duffle Bag of about 20-25 Lbs. Could this be causing the attacks? He will be 54 in July and weighs between 180 and 190. Thanks for Your Response, Neil R from Illinois

HI
Well come to HCM
I really appreciate your concern, with the history of coronary arteries block and stenting, and now having chest pain so this should be taken seriously and first thing to be done is EKG and ECHO because this could be another block, some time may need coronary angiography, hope this information helps take care.
