Could Pain In Chest, Burping And Bloating Mean GERD?

Hi there,

I have a question about GERD.

Recently I went to see my doctor for chest pain (in the middle) and gas, which she said was attributed to 'gastric'. I was given omeprazole, and it seemed to help. However when I miss a dose, the pain comes back. I burp a lot and my upper abdomen feels bloated. I only gave 1 capsule of the omeprazole left.

I was reading symptoms online and think that I might have GERD. I want to go back to the doctor, but what should I say to her? What tests should I ask for?

Thank you.

Hello,

As per my clinical background, the symptoms do mean gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) from various reasons as a hiatus hernia, gastritis, duodenitis with or without ulcer, other issues. You must discuss it with the doctor regarding the requirement of ultrasound of abdomen and pelvis with upper gastrointestinal (GI) endoscopy.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
