Could Neck Pain Be Due To Severe Coughing?

last week I was diagnosed with pneumonia. I continue to cough despite meds. Over this week, my neck has begun to hurt nearly all the time. I have used moist heat and otc meds with some help but it returns. Is it possible to hurt your neck from coughing?

hello, thanks for your query, servere, prolonged cough causes pharyngitis due to thick sputum and mucosal tear due to high pressure secondary to cough. kindly evaluate with an ent surgeon for some other causes like abscess in neck. all d best. take care.
